NEW REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

An applicant for a real estate salesperson license must be 18 years of age and have successfully completed education and examination requirements required by the Occupational Code, PA 299 of 1980, as amended. 

 

   Qualifying Education   Exams   Experience   Continuing Education
40 clock hours of approved real estate fundamentals

Examination.

None.

2 clock hours every year; 18 total per 3 year cycle

 

Effective December 1, 2007, prior to taking the exam, salesperson candidates will be required to apply for their license on-line at www.michigan.gov/iCOLA.  This system (iCOLA) will allow applicants who have completed the application process on-line, and have had a broker verify their employment relationship, to receive their license immediately upon passing the licensing examination.
